Wakes
Working with families, celebrants and funeral directors, Nicky and her team will ensure you have exactly what you and your guests need to remember and celebrate your loved one's life in a peaceful and calming environment.
They will ensure that the planning and run up is all taken care of for you with no fuss or stress for the organiser, whether you are choosing to host the service or simply the wake at Pangdean.
It is an entirely personalised service, allowing you time to set up the barn with personal items, photos and choose music to suit the day.
Pangdean Barn
Pangdean Barn is an exclusive, beautiful and calm country venue offering the perfect location, facilities and experience for you to remember and celebrate the life of someone you have lost.
Nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Pangdean is also conveniently close to Brighton, Gatwick, A23/A27 and has direct train links to London from nearby Hassocks Station. The beautiful 300-year-old listed barn is run by an experienced, professional and caring in-house team including owner and founder, Nicky Currie who also lives at the main house and has personally overseen nearly every occasion for the last 33 years.
Pangdean offers appropriate facilities for differing numbers of attendees and is also well located in relation to Clayton Wood Burial Ground and the crematoria in Brighton, Worthing and Crawley.
Decoration
We have a range of decorative items for the barn and stable rooms which are included in your venue hire. These include candles, olive trees, ivy boxes, easels, memory photo boards floor lanterns, fairy lights and linens. We can also supply simple flowers in vintage bud vases for the venue if required.
Catering
Our in-house catering team will create a suitable menu for your event. This often includes a range of sandwiches, hot savoury finger foods, and cakes or biscuits to be served with our local blend coffee or fresh loose leaf teas.
The menu can be personalised to suit your tastes and all dietary requirements can be catered for.
Our Facilities
·Ample assisted parking and disability spaces with an option to leave cars overnight.
Options for both indoor and outdoor service (with casket if required) with use of the beautiful large walled garden (weather permitting).
Welcome lit chimineas in the outside courtyard entrance.
In-house quality PA system with microphones (lapel and handheld) with the ability to play background and/or your chosen ceremony music.
Flexibility to bring your own favourite drinks or choose from the wine list/bar.
Luxury furniture including sofas, tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery, glassware and vases, linen tablecloths and little napkins.
Optional country-style flowers around the venue (all locally grown when available).
Large screen, projector and full audio/visual technical support.

Thank you again for everything on Friday. It was a lovely service and a fitting tribute to our very special mum. It was wonderful to see so many of Mum's personal items around, so thank you for allowing that. Together we created a very personal farewell. It couldn't have been any better. Mum's nature, hospitality and warmth were truly captured.
